ELIGIBILITY
The Matthew A. Martinez Real Estate Fund awards scholarships to single parents who demonstrate financial need and wish to pursue an associate or bachelor's degree at a college, community college or university in the Boston area. The scholarship was established to help low-income families break the cycle of poverty and achieve economic self sufficiency.
APPLICATION
To be considered for the award, applicant packets must be received by April 15th and include all of the following items:
- Matthew A. Martinez Real Estate Scholarship Application (send us an email for the application)
- Two letters of recommendation. Recommendations may come from advisers, friends, faculty members, teachers, professors or employers.
- An
original 250 - 500 word essay explaining why the applicant deserves the
scholarship and how obtaining their degree will help them in the future.
SELECTION
Scholarships are awarded annually on the basis of need and potential.
SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
In 2009 scholarships were awarded to students attending the following schools
- Columbia
- University of Pennsylvania
- Stanford
